1. testnTrack - AI homework checker
With artificial intelligence, TestnTrack redefining the traditional manual evaluation process to offer multifaceted solutions for educational institutions and coaching centers. TestnTrack has successfully raised an undisclosed amount in a pre-seed round.
Using artificial intelligence, teachers scan and upload student answer sheets for real-time processing, instantly providing not only grades but also audio feedback. Testntrack has also pioneered models for Indian languages, ensuring inclusivity and accessibility in education technology.
Since its inception in May 2022, TestnTrack has connected over 112 educational institutions across 3 states and 6 cities, scoring over 56,000 test papers to date.
What's trending? Half of elementary school teachers spend more than two hours preparing for class. Another 16 percent take about 70 to 90 minutes, and 13 percent of educators spend about an hour. Checking homework, making plans, selecting exercises for tests and quizzes, creating new assignments.... It is estimated that if you give a teacher a smart "digital assistant", the time to prepare for the lesson can be reduced by eight times.
Another example. We recently wrote about a similar product: Class Companion
How can this be applied? Build the same product for Russian teachers, because checking homework is still a significant part of the workflow.
2. Bizay - 1 click and you have the merchandise.
The advent of the internet combined with the ability to personalize items such as clothing has long revolutionized marketing, especially in the merch industry. The SME-focusedstartup Bizayproduces customized merchandise, was able to raise a significant amount of funding even in this challenging 2023 market. Bizay's total funding amount reached 72 million euros.
Bizay claims that its "special sauce" is a supply chain system for product personalization that integrates merchandising, packaging, apparel and a wide range of product personalization, and it has been able to reduce costs and increase the number of product categories it can serve.
Surprisingly, the company has "no factories, no machines, no inventory" and instead creates a rather complex value chain for product delivery. They may have three product suppliers within the same value chain because they choose the best supplier at each of these stages.
What's the trend? Suffice it to say, it's no surprise that customer merchandise continues to be a success. Companies love to send out branded products, and thanks to advances in technology, the market is becoming more and more accessible. The global custom apparel market (apparel alone) was valued at over $48 billion in 2022, and is expected to grow to $70 billion by 2028. The value of custom t-shirts alone is projected to exceed $3 billion in 2025. There is also partly an explosion in the creative economy, where, for example, influencers are connecting their various social platforms to custom merchandise platforms to, frankly, make some money. Consider that earlier this year, the hashtag #TikTokMadeMeBuyIt racked up over 71 billion views - clearly influencer marketing is alive and well.
How to apply it? Merch is also popular in Russia, and it would be much more convenient for small organizations to order branding products through such a marketplace.
3. driver fatigue.
Israeli startup CorrActionshas raised $7.25 million in Series A funding led by Volvo Cars Tech Fund, with participation from BlackBerry and other investors.
Founded in 2019, CorrActions has developed software that analyzes traffic to monitor drivers. The startup claims its software can detect abnormalities in the cognitive state of drivers and passengers based on micro-muscular movements that reflect brain activity. The software detects movements from sources such as the steering wheel, radars in the cabin, seats and other devices.
With the support of strategic investors including Volvo Cars and BlackBerry, they are ready to further implement the solution in production cars.
What's the trend? Falling asleep at the wheel is responsible for about 20% of traffic accidents. Fatalities and serious injuries are more common in accidents caused by falling asleep at the wheel. This is due to the driver's failure to take action to reduce speed or avoid an obstacle.
How can this be applied? Similar systems already exist in many cars. but they only track eye opening, not cognitive fatigue. This is the kind of solution that cab drivers could use. After all, 65% of cab drivers, in their own words, have an eight-hour shift. And 15% of those surveyed spend more than that - 8-12 hours behind the wheel.
